Enhydris features

These are some of Enhydris major features. Some of these are used in openmeteo.org/db, the free database with hydrometeorological data.

Some of the features bellow are used in openmeteo.org/db, currently most of these features are used in http://hoa.ntua.gr/ service. If you wish to obtain Enhydris to set up a database for your own, you can download-it freely from http://openmeteo.org/code/. By downloading Enhydris you get the whole of the available features, you have only to setup for each of them.

Features of current versions

  • Data access is configurable to allow or to restrict user groups and/or privileged users to contribute or to download data. With these capabilities, Enhydris can be used either as a public repository of free data or as a fully secured – restricted system for data storage.
  • Integrated GIS system with map display of stations.
  • Time series charts collections, e.g. for a station, see this page and this page.
  • Time series file format compatible with Hydrognomon software.
  • Application for tracking and representation of Rainfall events. See this page.
  • Surface plot of hydrometeorological variables, see this page.
  • Automatic calculation of Bioclimatic Indices e.g. from Temperature and Relative Humidity Timeseries. See this page and this page.
  • Automatic processes on time series e.g. aggregation and calculation such as Barometric Formula.
  • Management of Hydrometeorological Stations from several users with different access rights.
  • Each of station has several Meta-Information such as attached files (photos, videos etc), station log (station events), station overseers, station measurement instruments etc. See this station.
  • Page templates can be fully customized. See some different instances of Enhydris with several templates: this one, this one and this one.
  • Enhydris can work in distributed way (many servers hold different data, one server is used as a data aggregator).

Planed to be implemented in future versions

  • Twitter and / or RSS and / or e-mail updates of current weather stations or database state (addition of new stations - time series).
  • Rose diagrams of vector variables such as wind direction.
  • Direct messages between Enhydris users, comments and some other ideas coming from social networks.
