Openmeteo hosts the stations of the DEUKALION project
New meteorological and hydrometeorological stations in openmeteo.org free database
15 March 2012. The DEUKALION project aims to develop a set of physically-based methodologies associated with modelling and forecasting of extreme rainfall events and the subsequent flood events, adapted to the peculiarities of the hydroclimatic and geomorphological conditions of Greece. The project is funded by the National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF).
In order to supply the project with field measurements for the models, a set of meteorological and hydrometeorological stations have been installed. They cover the basins of Nedondas and Lousios in Peloponnese and the Sarantapotamos basin near Athens. Some telemetric stations are already transmitting data to the openmeteo.org server and the rest are expected to be connected in the next few weeks.
The research team of the DEUKALION project is committed to disseminate the results of the project and provide measured data free to everyone. It is convinced that the infrastructure of openmeteo.org is able to fully support the aims of the project.
